Traffic Controller
This course allows operators to work safely on roads, understand state and OSHA laws and to direct traffic safely. The course also covers installation of road safety signs and standard equipment in accordance with the relevant government legislation.
Participants will learn:
- Flagger training requirements
- Flagger qualifications/responsibilities - Positioning for safety - Motorist safety - Flagging signals - Traffic control zones - Night traffic control - Pavement markings and special lighting - Flagging at intersections - Short duration and mobile work - Surveying along the centerline - Emergency response flagging Upon successful completion of the course, the student will receive a wallet-size card certifying their training to work as a qualified traffic controller (flagger) in Washington, Oregon, Montana, and Idaho. Certification is good for three years from the month of issue. |
Traffic Manager
The Traffic Control Supervisor course is designed for individuals who supervise traffic control technicians and other field personnel. It provides comprehensive training on work zone standards, guidelines, installation and removal procedures, inspection, documentation and supervisory skills.
Participants will learn:
Building upon the introductory course, this course emphasizes multi-lane urban streets. Multi-lane intersection work zones, detours, two-lane roads, multi-lane roadways, and high-volume, high-speed, and controlled access facilities. This course covers traffic management plan reading and development, positive protection, work zone capacity, night work, and inspection. and mobile operations are covered in detail.
